Ted went round to Ralph’s house to visit him, and Ralph’s sister asked him in. In fact, Ralph was not in the house but in the garden. There he had stretched himself out on a deck-chair and was soaking up the sun. A bottle of wine stood close by, and Ted nearly knocked it over. It’s time to stop sunbathing said Ted to Ralph. We agreed to book our holiday overseas today. The travel agent in the high street has a bargain deal to Europe, but she said that other people are sure to snap it up if we don’t book quickly. Ralph replied sleepily, “Travel agents always say things like that. I hope you didn’t let her talk you into anything too expensive. I´lI just drink my wine up and put the deck-chair away, and, then, we’ll go.” Ralph’s sister appeared in time to hear this and said, “You’d better throw on some clothes as well – those shorts you’re wearing are rather
short to wear in the high street.” When Ralph was dressed, he and Ted went to the travel agent. Ralph agreed that the suggested holiday package was a good deal and they confirmed the booking and paid a deposit. “Now all we have to
do is to save up our money to pay for the rest of the fare and
for our living expenses,” said Ted: “It’s just as well that we have
a few months to do that!” replied Ralph.
